Hungarian Rhapsody No.2, S.244/2 by Franz Liszt

Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in C-sharp minor, S.244/2, is a solo-piano work, often described as the best known of his 19 Hungarian Rhapsodies. It was composed in 1847 and first published in 1851, with a dedication to László Teleki. The piece alternates slower and faster sections in the manner of the lassan and friska. An orchestral version associated with Liszt and Franz Doppler also exists, though the extent of each composer's contribution to it is uncertain. The indexed piano score is a community arrangement. Although its provider title differs, the arrangement has been confirmed as the No. 2 version for this catalog entry.
