From the ages of six to ten he lived overseas in the United States, and he first became interested in the guitar in junior high school after hearing Oasis, trying to learn the chords on a guitar his family owned. A piano teacher at home and a guitar picked up after Oasis suggest that more than one kind of music was close at hand. A friend asked him to sing in a band, he agreed, and once it was called Radwimps he was its vocalist, guitarist and only songwriter. Their debut independent album, Radwimps, came out in 2003, and in 2005 the band made its major debut under Toshiba EMI. A friend's request leading to one band name and a major-label debut two years after the first album traces a short route from invitation to contract. Labrador, written and produced for the singer Chara in 2008, was the first song Noda produced for another artist, and it served as the leading promotional track for her album Honey. He began his solo career to perform overseas, a goal his band, Radwimps, did not share. He made his debut as an actor in 2015, starring as the lead character Hiroshi in the film Pieta in the Toilet, and in 2024 he provided the music for the Netflix film The Parades. Writing for another singer, acting in a film and then scoring a Netflix title show a songwriter who kept taking jobs beyond the band. Makoto Shinkai sent Noda the script of Weathering with You on August 26, 2017, to get his opinions, before the director received the song Is There Still Anything That Love Can Do? from Radwimps for use as the film's theme. All music on the Weathering with You album is composed by Noda, except where indicated. A director who asked the vocalist to read the script first appears to have wanted the songs to start from the story.
