In an interview with CINRA, Siinamota said that, given his temperament, circumstances and position, the music he made was a minority dressed up as a majority. He added that a remark by Ichiro Yamaguchi of Sakanaction, that rock means winning a minority within the majority, impressed him so deeply that he resolved to carry it through. A producer who thinks of his work as quietly different, even inside a popular scene, suggests an artist who treated difference as the point and not a flaw. His musical life began at four, when he started lessons at an Electone school because his elder sister was taking them, and he says that became the basis of his composing today. In the second year of middle school he began posting to Niconico Douga, earned the nickname Powapowa-P, and Strobolast, which passed 500,000 plays, along with his other songs, drew attention quickly. In 2011 he stepped away from music for a time after harsh responses online, and then the label GINGA, which later became his home, reached out to him. A childhood keyboard class and early success on a video site suggest a musician whose training and whose audience both formed at an unusually young age. GINGA first wrote about a compilation, 0001: a galaxy odyssey, and he and his friends joked that it sounded very suspicious, but after meeting the label's head, Ryosuke Sonehara, they found themselves in strong agreement about what to do next. In March 2012 he released his first album, Yume no Manimani, under the name Siinamota, with a chic jacket that carried no Vocaloid character, unlike many CDs credited to a producer with a P in the name. At seventeen he moved to Tokyo, and after releasing Kokegane no Uta in February 2013 he joined U/M/M/A, an electronic music label home to DECO*27, sasakure.UK and Buffalo Daughter, which he had long admired. A jacket without a character and a move to an electronic label suggest a wish to be heard as a songwriter in his own name and not only as a Vocaloid producer, and perhaps a taste for letting the music, not a mascot, face the listener. He says his lyrics began as sensory words joined like puzzle pieces, until listening to bands made him want to say something to listeners. Within a month of one album's release he posted Futsuu ni toshi o toru koto sura, track eight, on the theme of loneliness, which he called the axis of the work, and Shoujo A, track nine, on the theme of change, which he uploaded without asking the label. U/M/A/A Inc. announced that Siinamota had died at the age of 20, without giving a cause. Songs about loneliness and change, one posted without permission, hint at a writer who preferred to put a feeling out quickly rather than wait for an approved moment.
