MyGO!!!!! began as a band from BanG Dream! in which the real and the fictional are synchronized, with the catchphrase “It’s okay to be lost, keep moving forward.” Its five members are 燈 on vocals, 愛音 and 楽奈 on guitars, そよ on bass and 立希 on drums. The BanG Dream! site describes music with a melodic hardcore backbone, punk rock mixed with poetry reading, and emotional songs that shake the listener’s heart, and says the band carries doubts and unanswered worries onto the stage. A catchphrase about being lost, set beside a page describing doubts carried onto the stage, can be read as a band whose public line and described sound point the same way. After the debut announcement in April 2022, the band held its 1st LIVE in July and its 2nd LIVE in September, and released its first single Mayoiuta (迷星叫) in November. An interview on Skream says the band was active as a masked band for a year after its debut, without revealing faces or voice actor names during live performances, and unveiled itself at its 4th LIVE in April the following year. In the same interview, a member said the five had started gathering for weekly practice about a year before the 1st LIVE, with individual lessons having begun even a year before that. Individual lessons that began about two years before the first stage show, and weekly full-band practice from about a year before, suggest a project that treated its debut as the end of a long preparation. The same interview records the difficulty of that early rehearsing, as one member said their voice would get buried among the live instruments in full-band practice, even after being praised in individual lessons. A member also said that singing as a voice actor and singing use different parts of the body, and that the speaking voice and the singing voice seem to come from completely different places. A singer whose voice was lost among the instruments at first suggests how much of the band’s sound had to be worked out together, bar by bar. A livedoor News conversation features the voice actor 羊宮妃那, who plays Tomori Takamatsu, and the composer 藤田淳平 of Elements Garden, who wrote and arranged the insert song Haruhikage and the ending theme Shiori for the TV anime BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!!. In that conversation Haruhikage was decided from the start as a song of CRYCHIC that MyGO!!!!! would later sing, and unusually the lyrics by Oda Asuka came first, where the composer says the music normally comes first about nine times in ten in his own work. The band’s first full album includes 13 tracks, among them its single songs, the insert songs 碧天伴走, 春日影 (MyGO!!!!! ver.), 詩超絆 and 迷路日々, and a song provided by Mr.FanTastiC. A song decided from the start as a CRYCHIC song that MyGO!!!!! would later sing can be read as a sign that its later singers were already part of the plan.
