Browse piano sheets by Miracle Musical (ミラクルミュージカル) on Zen Virtual Piano. Joe Hawley formed Miracle Musical with Federman and Karaca. The first single, Variations on a Cloud, came out on September 11, 2012, with Cantor. On December 12, 2012, the group put out its concept album Hawaii: Part II. Sedghi is on the track White Ball and Cantor is on Time Machine. A single and a full album about three months apart point to a brisk pace of release. Joe heard the melody of Dream Sweet in Sea Major while his family was in Hawaii, in the summer of 1997. Joe was “not trying to write a melody; it's the emotion I heard in my mind when I watched the ocean from the balcony after everyone had fallen asleep.” Part of Joe's inspiration for the album Hawaii: Part II was a 1995 book by William Chiles, The Secrets and Mysteries of Hawaii: A Call to the Soul. A 1997 trip to Hawaii, an album titled Hawaii: Part II and a 1995 book about Hawaii may suggest that the place was a recurring thread around the project. One recollection on the Hawaii: Part II page says that more than 30 artists, many recording parts on their own and sending in separate vocal or instrumental tracks, pushed organizational skills to their limits. It adds that the writer did not see Joe face-to-face throughout the process. Another recollection calls the experience magical because it was the writer's first time doing something like that, and says that people who happened to be in town in Los Angeles would swing by and add their little piece. A recording built from remote tracks and casual visits suggests how loosely the project was held together, and how open its doors were. As a pseudo-musical, the album repeats and reuses lyrics and melodies in different songs. On September 18, 2018, a Kickstarter began to press the album to vinyl, and a month later 456 backers pledged $16,544 against a $7,000 goal. A campaign launched nearly six years after the album's release and funded at more than twice its goal points to a lasting audience for the album.
