Max Richter

Browse piano sheets by Max Richter on Zen Virtual Piano. Deutsche Grammophon’s German-language pages describe Max Richter’s Vivaldi project as the first contribution to the label’s “Recomposed” series in which the reworking took place at note level and was then performed by an orchestra, “a composed remix, so to speak.” Richter is quoted on the work: the greatest challenge was to create a consistent and powerful reworking, an experimental hybrid that works and makes sense at every moment, that is always “Vivaldi” but also always “Richter” and contemporary, and that preserves the original spirit of the great work. The label’s review page adds that Richter’s preferred partners for realizing the score were immediately enthusiastic about the project: the violinist Daniel Hope, an experienced interpreter of contemporary music and celebrated exponent of the classical repertoire, and the conductor André de Ridder, a pioneer of new music and a sought-after partner for collaborations with pop artists such as Gorillaz or These New Puritans.
