Eill

Browse piano sheets by Eill on Zen Virtual Piano. eill is a singer-songwriter from Tokyo whose name comes from Eir, the healing goddess of Norse myth, reflecting a belief that healing power lives in music too. eill began piano lessons at about three, gave them up on starting primary school, and then fell for musical films such as Hairspray and Disney's. In eill's words, music has saved eill in a large part. Separately, eill says of being weak by nature and of having had various operations and hospital stays. Early piano lessons and the remark that music has saved eill in a large part may point to a long relationship with music. Looking back with a laugh, eill recalls a Korean teacher whose lessons ran every day after school until about ten at night, saying it was very scary, with scolding every day and practice in tears. In the third year of junior high, a Christmas present of a keyboard, microphone and interface let eill begin playing piano alone and recording vocals to make demos. About twice, songs were finished and recorded and still fell through, and about two years passed, until a wish to release something before turning twenty led to writing and recording MAKUAKE in about two weeks and releasing it on June 13, four days before the birthday on June 17. Daily lessons that ran until about ten at night and songs that fell through twice may suggest that the path to a first release included setbacks as well as steady practice. At music school, eill met the teacher Rung Hyang, a singer-songwriter who has produced for Ms.OOJA and written lyrics for Aoyama Thelma. Writing songs together in lessons taught eill how much lyrics matter. In April 2021 eill made a major debut with Koko de Iki wo Shite, the ending theme of the TV anime Tokyo Revengers. Lessons that taught eill how much lyrics matter and the Japanese lyrics written for an IVE song may suggest that writing counted as much as singing in eill's work, including songs supplied to other artists. According to eill's official biography, eill's songwriting has been highly rated, and songs were supplied to BE:FIRST, Taeyeon, formerly of Girls' Generation, EXID, WEST., NEWS and Ryota Katayose. eill has also guested on tracks by m-flo, SKY-HI and PINKSWEAT$, written the Japanese lyrics of a popular IVE song, and works in the four-member girls' band CHIANZ formed with childhood friends. eill says the sound effects are recorded by eill each time, and for one song eill put the sound of a friend's motorbike at the end of the D melody. Making demos alone with a keyboard and recording the sound effects each time may suggest a hands-on approach to building tracks, from the first demos to the finished songs.
